Waiting for Life to Resume

Lately, I’ve realised that no matter how productive I try to be, my mind always circles back to the life I’m waiting to return to.

I’ve been reading, learning Spanish, studying Traditional Chinese Medicine, writing this blog, and slowly getting back into exercising. On paper, it looks like I’m making good use of this season.

But if I’m honest, something still feels incomplete.

There are days when I wonder if I’m doing enough. I tell myself I should read one more book, learn one more skill, or accomplish something meaningful so that when this chapter finally ends, I can say I didn’t waste my time.

Then I catch myself asking the wrong question.

Instead of asking, “What have I achieved?” maybe I should be asking, “Who have I become?”

This wasn’t the chapter I planned, but it has quietly changed me. It taught me to slow down, to keep learning even when life feels uncertain, and to keep showing up for myself when there’s no finish line in sight.

I still long for the day I can move forward again.

But until then, perhaps it’s enough to keep preparing for the life I hope to return to—one page, one workout, one lesson, and one ordinary day at a time.
